I'm a hacker and photographer. I've been the latter since around 2010 and the former since 1998, when I first discovered Turbo Pascal at college. The roots go back further than that, of course; I've been tinkering with computers one way or another since I got an Amiga 500 as a Christmas present in the early nineties.
I spent seven years working for Canonical, the company behind Ubuntu Linux. I worked as a developer on Launchpad, Juju and MaaS. I got to travel the world, work with really smart people and build cool software.
These days I'm either doing freelance or contract IT work, or I'm making pictures of people. You can check out my photography at my main website, gmb.photo.
I live in Manchester, England.
